How do you make adjustment for depreciation of asset?
Q. Could someone please help? This is for a computerized financial accounting. And I am completely lost. On July 1 delivery equipment was purchased for 4320.00. The equipment has an estimated useful life of 3 years (36 months) and no salvage value. Using the straight-line method, analyze the necessary adjusting entry as of 31 July (one month) using T accounts and then formally enter this adjustment in the general journal.

How bad will the adjustment be when oil starts to run out?
Q. There is still a lot of liquid oil in the earth, but it's getting more and more expensive to pump out. Plus there is a lot of tar sands but they have to be mined. How bad will the adjustment be when oil becomes too expensive for the average person to afford (drive to work, go on vacation, etc.)?

A. that's a good question cause for some people it's almost getting to that breaking point now. where i live, fuel oil is $3.15 a gallon and gasoline is $3.31 a gallon. i know that's not a lot for some areas, but i live in Upstate NY where the winter months get to be 32 degrees by day and 2 to 5 degrees at night. needless to say, the furnaces and such almost run constantly. i'd be interested in an alternative fuel supply or gasoline supply if it would be more affordable and practical. however, someone needs to think of one pretty quick like.

My pneumatic seat height adjustment doesn't work on my computer chair. How do I fix it?
Q. I have a computer/office chair with the Pneumatic seat height adjustment. I can raise it up by pulling the lever, but when I sit on the chair, it slowly drops down again. What can I do to make it stay in one spot?
Asked by LukeK - Thu May 31 09:52:01 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. There are seal in the pneumatic that stop the air from escaping and it sounds like they are worn out. To repair the chair would most likely exceed the cost of just buying a new computer/desk chair.

In Accounting when doing Adjustments where would you add an adjustment for Utilities Expense?
Q. I have an adjustment to add on to the Work Sheet for Utilities. It is stated like this " The June utilities expense of $550 is not included in the unadjusted trial balance because the bill arrived after the trial balance was prepared. The $550 amount owed needs to be recorded". I just don't know where to record it and how to add it to the Adjustments. I want to thank anyone who can help me ahead of time. Any and all help is very much appreciated. I know that on the adjustments you place it in the debit side of the untilities expense, but what account gets the credit?

A. I'll clear this up for you. Wage is an expense. Correct? If you were doing adjustments at the end of a period, you would want the wage expense to show in the period where it was incurred. You would record the portion that is accrued wage. Let's say the total wage is 500. and 300. is accrued and relates to the current period. You would make an adjustment as follows: dr wage expense 300. cr wage payable 300. Now, your utilities: In order for the utilities expense to show in the period in which it was incurred 550. needs to be included in the adjustments as follows: dr utilities expense 550. cr utilities payable 550. Now the adjusted trial balance will show the utilities expense in the correct period and it will be carried to the… [cont.]

Is there a period of adjustment when switching birth control pills for hormone replacement?
Q. I have been taking birth control pills for early menopause for about a year now. I was taking 30mcg but my doctor switched me to 50mcg because my symptoms are so severe. I have been taking the new ones for almost 2 weeks now and feel some of my old symptoms creeping back again but not as severe. Is this normal? Is there a period of adjustment when switching? When will the new higher dose pills kick in?
Asked by trulve - Tue Jun 3 17:40:22 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Yes, there is a period of adjustment when switching from birth control pills to hormone replacement like can occur when someone switches from one brand of birth control pill to another. It can take the body 3 months to fully adjust but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

Have you ever heard of a chiropractic adjustment to get rid of spitting up?
Q. Someone recently told me that they heard of this new thing where you take your baby to a chiropractor and they do a quick little adjustment near their sternum and it cures them of spitting up. Has anyone ever heard of this or tried it before? Any info on how I can find someone in my area to do it? I live on Long Island in NY. Thanks!

A. I've heard of it, but never tried it. A chiropracter that goes to my church adjust babies for everything from spitting up to plain old fussiness. He adjusts newborns and says all newborns need it because of the birth through the birth canal...it is worth a shot. Look them up in the phone book and call and ask if they work on infants.

I was not able to file adjustment of status after marriage, What will happen to my status?
Q. We was not able to file adjustment of status because my husband's affidavit of support was expired. So, we renew it again. What will happen to my status now as a K1 visa since we are very late in filing adjustment of status. Please help me.
Asked by sweetie - Fri Mar 14 20:10:58 2008 - - 2 Answers - 2 Comments
A. On a k-1 visa, you must apply for adjustment of status before your visa expires. Visa expires 90 days after you entered the U.S. Unfortunately their is no renewal option on k-1 visa's. If your visa is expired you will need to apply from outside the U.S. using form I-130 petition for Alien Relative. I would suggest you check with an attorney if indeed your visa is expired.

How do you change pitch adjustment on a morley wah?
Q. I opened up my morel, and it is totally different than my crybaby. It does not use a pitch volume knob. Does anyone know how to do the adjustment so I can get a higher, screaming eagle like, sound when it is down??
Asked by Car Racer - Fri Jun 26 19:00:40 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I'm not sure which model you have of the Morley, but they normally have 2 types, 1 that uses the volume nob type, used for most general wah, and the photo sensitive infrared swithch. From what you are saying, you are useing the infrared eye, and if that is the case, lift up the black cover that allows the red diod to send more light to the sensor, it will open the pitch higher. You can get more info on the Moreley site.

What is the cable next to the accelerator adjustment cable on a 1992 Nissan 300zx?
Q. I have a 1992 Nissan 300ZX it is not a TT or 2+2...if you are looking at the engine, on top are two adjustment cables. I know the far right is the accelerator cable but is the one on the left the idle adjustment cable? also is it best to have the accelerator cable as tight as it can go without have it pull on the switch or just a little loose?
Asked by asa e - Wed Oct 29 23:18:42 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. On most cars, that 2nd cable is for the cruise control if it has a 2nd cable right next to the throttle cable. As for your other Q, most of the time the throttle cable has a tiny bit of slack in it (it's not loose by any means, but it's not normally as tight as a banjo-string unless the gas pedal is depressed from inside the car). There's probably no need to tighten it unless there's an abnormally large amount of slack (like if nothing happens when you initially press the gas pedal in the car...otherwise it's probably just fine as it is.).
