Business people: Is "consultants" a good word to use in a business title*?
Q. I am thinking about starting a small business with another person. We would be providing experts on different subjects to our clients. I wanted to use the word 'consultants' in the title. Is it a good word to use these days or has it gone out of favor? *Something like "Adams Accounting Consultants" The "Accounting" part above is just an example - it's not an accounting business. Sorry for any confusion.

A. I have been self employed for 20 years, and this is my take. I would not visit you for service. Why- I would rather hire a CPA I can get the same info from a CPA and then CPA is also liable for the information he gives me. If I hire a CPA for my yearly information, I basically get information all year round. I don't think it is a good idea for small business, but for large businesses they like big words.

Are there any advertising recruitment consultants who specialise in relocation of UK creatives to the US?
Q. I'm one half (the words half) of a creative team. We have a couple of years experience working together in a London agency, and are both now very - very very very - keen to move to the states. We're currently looking to make a move, whether or not we go abroad, and are getting our book together. But I'm wondering if there are any London based recruitment consultants who specialise in - or have a good track record of - creative recruitment to agencies in the US, or relocation in general? What do brand consultants/brand strategists do day-to-day?
Q. Any job seems a little elusive until you've actually worked in it. I understand in general terms what brand consultancy/brand strategy is all about, and it appeals to me as a career - but what does it *actually* involve on a daily basis? And what are the best bits, the exciting bits, the challenging bits, the boring bits, the frustrating bits? What is the timescale of a typical project and how is it carried out? And what kind of people make the best brand consultants/strategists?

A. Shallow, manipulative, superficial wannabes make the best brand consultants/strategists. Day to day, they enjoy exploiting people's inherent weaknesses in order to make money, objectifying women, and making the general public feel inferior for not having something that they don't need. The most challenging part of any brand consultant/strategist's day is looking in the mirror. Rebranding ice as a must have purchase when it can be secured for free is an example of a typical project. So if you can justify selling ice to poverty-stricken eskimos experiencing social and financial hardships, and do so without worrying about the effects that plundering the world's ice will have on global warming, it might just be the job for you.
