Hi, i was just wondering for a essay how have specific scenes in the movie Shakespear in love compared to the play Romeo and juliet created new meanings in modern audiences. i mean the general plot is the same but some of the scenes have been changed to suit modern audiences, which are scenes are these and how is it done. Asked by Jack M - Mon Jul 21 01:50:50 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. you need to realise that 'Shakespeare' is taking dialouge from all around him - what people say - and using it in the play. take a look at the balcony scene for example. or the scene in viola's bed - 'it was the lark'... often, the masculine and feminine roles are reversed. there are also some comic moments slotted into the story which only a modern audience would appreciate - the 'cabbie' styled boat-rower, Shakespeare's 'psychiatrist' or the Stratford-upon-Avon mug that Shakespeare has in his rooms.
